SERVICES AVAILABLE
The way that doctors contract with the
NHS changed in 2004. We now offer a range of services, some of which we
have previously provided and some which have been commissioned by the PCT.
These services are as follows:
Core (Essential) Services
These services are defined as those required
for the management of registered patients and temporary residents who are ill
or believe themselves to be ill, those patients suffering from chronic disease
and those patients who are terminally ill.
National or Local Directed Enhanced Services
These services have been commissioned by
Shropshire County PCT for our registered patients and temporary residents:
• Access to General Medical Services.
• Influenza immunisation for those age 65 and over and other at-risk groups.
• Minor surgery
• Anti-coagulation service
• Intra-partum care - neonatal checks
• Intra-uterine contraceptive device fittings
• Near patient testing

PATIENTS OVER 75 YEARS
If you are aged 75 or over, you should
be seen annually either by your doctor, the practice nurse, district nurse or

a home visit will be arranged.
PATIENTS NOT SEEN WITHIN THREE YEARS
If you are aged between 16 and 75 and have not seen your doctor in the past three years you can make an appointment by contacting the surgery.
TRAVEL VACCINATIONS/IMMUNISATIONS
Please make an appointment with a practice nurse at least eight
weeks in advance of your holiday to ensure adequate cover. A charge will be made
for certain immunisations and vaccinations which are not covered by the NHS. A
list of these charges is held at reception.
FLU VACCINATION
An influenza vaccination is particularly
recommended for patients with heart, lung or kidney disease, diabetes and residents
of nursing and rest homes. Please contact the reception staff in late August for details
of the vaccination dates and to make an appointment. If you are unable to attend
the surgery, a home visit will be arranged to undertake this facility.
